Students project gets selected for the MassDot Innovation Conference

Last semester we collaborated with Mass Dot to build an optimized crosswalk push button to make crosswalk more accessible for those with low hearing and vision. With the successful completion and showcase our students’ projects were selected for a state conference this year.

NU students help Boston Home residents move around safely

One of the residents at The Boston Home (TBH) on Dorchester Avenue at Gallivan Blvd. has been equipped with a low-cost device to help her navigate her way through her day, thanks to a team of engineers-in-training at Northeastern University (NU).

“These projects are done from start to finish in 13 weeks,” Johnson explained. “From the first day of class to the last day of class, that’s all the time they have to build this, trial it, implement it, and deliver it.”

Summer Internship Program 2024

An 8-week fully immersive program built for 8th grade to high school students. In this internship, students will embrace an experiential learning environment to work with real clients in creating solutions to help family members, clinicians, and teachers care for people with disabilities.

Welcoming Enabling Engineering at NU’s The Roux Institute in Portland Maine

We are proud to announce a second summer program this year in collaboration with First Robotic New England at the Boston campus. This year we are not just having it at the Boston campus but have introduced and franchised the program to our NU’s The roux Institute at the Portland ME campus.

We seek to support individuals with disability via low cost, customized solutions that empower individuals.
